Common Room 0900hrs-1000hrs Wednesday 11th April Every Wednesday morning from 0900hrs, parents will have the chance to engage with the school in sessions that cover all aspects of your child’s education, from the Early Years to A Levels and university admissions. The venue will vary according to the anticipated audience, and for next the meeting, Mr Jeffrey, the Master will discuss the plans for the Summer Fair on 19th May. The Summer Fair is a month earlier this year and to try and maximize the engagement of all members of our community, Mr Jeffrey will open a discussion on the opportunities available for volunteers and supporters. The theme of this year’s Summer Fair is ‘respect for the environment’ and we will focus on developing ideas around measures to protect our local – and global – environment. The World Scholar's Cup This weekend was a very busy one across the school, however three pupils were off competing at the Regional Round of the World Scholar's Cup held at Dulwich College, Beijing. Competition was fierce, and our scholars ended Saturday with an audible sigh after a gruelling day of Scholars Challenge, Team Write and Debates. Though great fun, the Scholar's Bowl on Sunday brought fresh concerns over the level of skill and knowledge of their fellow competitors. My faith however, was never in doubt, and our team of Caleb, Eric Ji Da and Leo, came away with a hoard of silver and gold at their necks. A total of 22 medals for both team and singular performances! Our journey home was made easier, safe in the knowledge that we have secured a place at the Kuala Lumpur Global Round. Our Wellington College Tianjin scholars have once again proved that hard work does indeed reap rewards and they should feel very proud of themselves. Now our resilient learners must rise to the new challenge of the next level of competition. A huge well done to all!
