Learning through Play | “Magic Garden”

06 Feb 2025

At Wellington College Bilingual Tianjin Nursery, we advocate the educational philosophy of "Learning Through Play”. This is an educational approach that combines learning with play, emphasising the stimulation of children's interest in learning through fun and interactive methods. As children play, they naturally explore the world, develop their cognitive abilities, and also cultivate their emotional and social skills in a relaxed and enjoyable environment. It is not just an educational method, but also a profound understanding — learning can be fun. Through play, children can not only acquire knowledge but also develop creativity, social skills, and the wisdom to solve problems.  ☛ Learn More

Stimulating Interest in Learning: Play can arouse children's intrinsic motivation, encouraging them to explore and learn actively. When learning becomes enjoyable, children are more willing to invest their time and energy.

Fostering Creativity and Imagination: Through games, children can freely express their ideas and try out different solutions, thereby developing their creativity and imagination.

Developing Social Skills: In interactive games, children learn to cooperate, communicate, and share with others, skills that are crucial for their future development.

Enhancing Problem - Solving Abilities: The challenges and problems in games require children to think and solve them, which helps to develop their logical thinking and problem - solving skills.

At Wellington College Bilingual Tianjin Nursery, we help children learn and grow naturally through play by organising a series of carefully designed fun - learning activities. Today, we invite you to join us for the first episode of this video series —— the "Magic Garden". Here, children participate in planting activities, sowing seeds, watering plants, and observing their growth, experiencing the changing seasons. They interact closely with insects, learning natural science knowledge and exploring the mysteries of life. We also regularly hold nature - watching activities, encouraging children to record the growth process of plants and develop their powers of observation and ability to keep records. Through these activities, children not only gain knowledge but also develop a love for and awareness of protecting nature.

The outdoor garden is not just a green space; it is a vibrant natural classroom where children can explore and grow freely. "Learning Through Play" is not just about acquiring knowledge through play but also about developing children's overall ability through games. We will continue to create a fun - filled and challenging learning environment for children, allowing them to thrive through play.
