Meet our New Teachers

31 Aug 2022

As the golden rays of autumn arrive following the summer, we are so excited to welcome the new academic year in this beautiful and rewarding season. Despite the challenges we are facing with the ongoing Covid-19 situation, we are still confident in developing a culture of excellence here at Wellington. We hold on to our Wellington Values and provide high-quality education and a wonderful learning environment for our pupils and community. While pursuing this goal, we can see that educators from different countries and regions share this goal with us. Again, this year we have continued to keep a low turnover rate of teaching staff. Furthermore, considering the strategic development of the school, we have added six new teachers to the academic team which includes five Senior School teachers and one Junior School teacher. It shows the confidence that Wellington College Tianjin has in its future development and our commitment to holistic education and an outstanding teaching team.

Wellington College China has a rigorous group, safer recruitment policy. Every year, an audit team including Central Office and external experts conduct an annual safer recruitment audit of all Wellington schools in China, checking the full compliance against the group's safer recruitment policy and guidelines. Questions related to safeguarding and child protection are set in the details of the interview including reference checks, which are implemented to evaluate a teacher's relevant experience and for us to receive valuable reference feedback. After a rigorous screening process, teachers are given a two-week extensive new staff induction and whole staff training upon arrival, which includes safeguarding, child protection and professional development training, etc. Each new member of our team undertakes a probationary evaluation period followed by an annual appraisal target-setting process.

Wellington College Tianjin Team is ready, confident and excited for the year ahead.
