Sports | The Cornerstone of Health and Growth
On May 13, 2022, the Nest celebrated their annual sports day. The sports events included running, jumping, crawling, balancing, throwing and so on. Children of all year groups, from 2 years old to 6 years old, actively participated in these events, showing off their sports skills acquired in PE class.
"Movement is the bricks and mortar of the intellectual edifice." Children's body movements and physical development are the cornerstones of their growth. It not only helps children build strong muscles, strengthen bones, develop physical coordination, and promote cardiopulmonary and neurological development but also encourages their social skills and fosters a positive and optimistic spirit. Building and maintaining exercise habits from an early age has a positive and long-term impact on children. The British Early Years Foundation Stage EYFS clearly states that allowing children to contact and experience a full range of things through social interaction, lots of outdoor exploration and physical exercise helps develop independence, confidence and analytical judgment.
At the end of that day, a fine medal was given to each child who participated actively. Our Nest staff team also participated in the event, encouraging, assisting, cheering and accompanying the children so that they could enjoy the happiness of sports! We are looking forward to the children showing off more new skills at next year's sports day.
