Play-based Teaching and Learning

Learning is constantly developed through play-based activities, centred around a range of child-led projects or themes whereby pupils are invited to share what they already know and then, with the help of the adults around them, research the theme in greater depth.

Our Teaching Team

At Wellington College Bilingual Tianjin, we have an outstanding team of teachers. They are all fully qualified and have experience teaching in their home countries and abroad. Most importantly, they care passionately about what they do and the responsibility they have in realising the potential of their pupils. Our teachers fully embrace the Wellington ethos and values, and this provides the basic framework for the team spirit that inspires all of them to realise the high expectations they have for all the pupils and for themselves. 

•Almost 70% of the team have more than 10 years of experience. 

•Six staff hold Master’s degrees

•Five of our Chinese staff have the TEM-8. 

•Several teachers also hold additional qualifications in counselling, SEND, Headship, art and design, International Montessori certification.
