Dear Pupils and Parents
We have just completed our Wellington Summer Camp for this year. Many children from the wider Wellington community had a wonderful time, full of meaningful classes and fun activities. The 65+ activities are taught by both Wellington foreign and Chinese teachers, together with the help of many highly skilled professional service providers from Tianjin. We have created a comprehensive and dynamic programme of activities to choose from. The Academy Programme provides a range of language, cultural, sporting and artistic activities for all our pupils, their parents, family and friends across our Wellington community.
Above and Beyond the many colourful, exciting and meaningful courses included in our Wellington Academy programme. We highlight here some new and special classes.
Drama with LAMDA
Drama and acting are great ways for children to improve their performance and speaking. Our LAMDA Drama classes will allow the children to gain confidence and to develop both communication and speaking skills.
Compering and Presenting
Wellington's Compere and Presenting Training is ideal for a child's temperament, competence and confidence. Pupils will improve their posture, can express themselves better and learn roles of etiquette; all skills that enable them to build confidence in themselves whilst acting in groups and on stage.
Beijing Opera
Beijing Opera uses song and dance to tell stories. This includes literature, music, dance, martial arts, fine arts, acrobatics, and other parts of comprehensive embodiment. Learning Beijing Opera can help pupils understand Chinese history, improve their cultural awareness and cultivate them.
Boxing
Boxing is a new addition this semester. Our coach is a certified integrative nutritionist and health coach as well as a personal trainer. She has over 10 years experience in helping pupils to make fitness a lifestyle choice and is a fun and dynamic way to help improve fitness.
Fencing
Wellington has selected one of the best fencing clubs in Tianjin to guarantee the finest level of teaching to our pupils. Fencing is a gracious sport in which physical balance, skill, explosivity, patience and tactics are very important. During the fencing classes, your child will not only learn the basics of fencing and its three main disciplines, they will also improve their general physique and sportsmanship.
In a diverse, multicultural future, our children need to be exposed to the world and its different cultures, habits and activities. Only whilst being in contact with new things can a child’s vision and thinking be constantly updated and developed. Let your child be the leader of the classroom and encourage them to be adventurous, to explore their potential, to discover the wider world and to acquire lifelong skills. Let your child become more independent and complete.
